Preparations for the third NMSB 2020 and the Reading together campaign in Slovenia are already in motion. The fundamental aim is to promote and connect different reading and cultural activities in the field of reading literacy and reading culture for adults and different generations. The campaign will start on 8 September, international literacy day, and it will end on 11 October, at the end of an annual programme ‘Week of a child’.
We can proudly announce that last year’s campaigns, NMSB 2019 (September 8-October 13, 2019) and Reading together were very successful. As many as 245 providers from all over Slovenia and the wider region entered 869 events in the map of events.
This year we are particularly excited, because NMSB 2020 will be one of the leading themes within the LLW campaign (4 September–9 October 2020). In this way, all stakeholders will be connected in the efforts to promote and raise awareness about the importance of reading, reading literacy and reading culture in lifelong learning for all generations.
The NMSB 2020 opening event as a part of joint LLW campaign will take place on 8 September in Cankarjev dom in Ljubljana. The red thread of this year’s conference of reading culture and reading literacy will address the issue ‘Reading as a value?’
With the wish that as many AECs as possible join the campaign, we invited them to help broaden the map of events, i.e. reading map, and enter events that encourage various groups to read (literary meetings, readings, promotional events …). With it, we try to bring together as many diverse events as possible for the public to promote reading and reading culture.
